Marilyn Slade is an artist living on Saltspring Island, in British Columbia. She relocated to SaltSpring Island from Vancouver to feed her passion and her deep need to be surrounded by nature and the seaside. She grew up in the Vancouver Lower Mainland, devoting the first part of her professional career as a facilitator of professional and self-development programs. Marilyn moved on to lead highly successful teams in health care after gaining her degree in gerontology and working as Health Care Administrator and CEO of several long-term care homes. Marilyn’s caring nature and personal contributions to the evolution of excellence in seniors’ care in BC have been recognized provincially. Studying and creating art from an early age, Marilyn is an accomplished guitarist and singer. She grew up in the theatre and can throw a mean party! She turned her passion to painting 25 years ago and has continued to hone her craft by studying with local artists and participating in local art shows.
